Literacy affects the workplace Low-literacy skills can have a profound negative impact on the workplace. We know, based on a National Adult Literacy Survey (NALS) study, that a projected 51% of American adults have difficulties with everyday tasks that involve literacy. Improved workplace literacy can increase the employees' efficiency, effectiveness and productivity on the job. As a result, employers experience greater customer satisfaction and process improvement, a lower incident of accidents, reduced waste, and fewer errors.
Literacy impacts many factors that contribute to a smooth-running, profitable organization.
Our Program Literacy @ Workplace, a unique offering of LPNJ, allows employers to raise their employees' workplace competency without having to create their own education program. Literacy Programs of New Jersey (LPNJ) develops a curriculum tailored to employer/employee needs and conducts the training at the company work site.
Literacy Programs of New Jersey Literacy @ Workplace teachers are certified education professionals.
